Music in my head

3 (edit)Hi world I just wanted to say that in the past couple of months other peoples music has been popping in and out of my head. Which is a good and bad sign in my mind. It’s good that others and music is coming back to me but it’s bad cuz I don’t want others in my mind I want Mikey. When I have put up music that’s not Mikey’s some people have been mean about things that it’s not hip hop on the E&A site. But I say if you know anything about Mikey and Maxx you would know they pulled from many types of music be it rap, jazz, old rock, punk, even from classical but they were put in a category and for some they need to stay there. But how do we grow if we stay in one thought? Growth is moving from something comfortable to the unknown. Exploring things around you with a curiosity, an open mind not looking at it from the same light, position you have always looked. That is not to say you shouldn’t have faith, hope, beliefs. It’s just to say look at things from more than one side.

So this song came out when Mikey was about 2 and when he couldn’t sleep I would sing it to him. Now it’s about the loss of love which can apply to many forms but for me as we get close to the day of Mikey’s funeral it has by popping in my head so I thought I would share. I would call this a classic rock song. Hope it works. Bonnie Tyler “Total Eclispe of the Heart”

Thank you for being supportive, sharing your memories, sharing stories, showing up at events, buying things, and listening to me. Love Kathy

Thank you, Kathy. The only time that I got to see your son was in ’09 at Red Rocks in Morrison, CO… People say that it is the venue of the gods, and honestly: I agree. There isn’t a more spiritual live music location of earth. Of course, you know that he was playing with Murs, Aesop, Abilities and Slug/Atmos; I heard such talent in one night, with such a location and venue in hand, by leaps and bounds the night was by far one of the most special of my life. Yet, having shown up to the show for Murs and Atmosphere, I couldn’t, from the end of that night and from now until forever and today, recognize that there was a young man/artist that stole the show, not only in his performance, because the layout of the “By the Throat” album is perfection, but the deliverance of the show was breathtaking. I fell in love with Mikie’s music and still to this day, as I drive the I10, highway 202 and the 101 in Phoenix, have to hear “Skydiver” before I get to work, just to remain sane. You did well raising your son. The more I read and the more you’re involved I gain inspiration to be happy myself. If you ever need help or want to have a start up point/place to stay of r yourself or any of the old friends of Mikie’s in this area of the U.S. my email is charlesm818@gmail.com… Thank you for your steadfast belief. Forevermore strong.

    Hi Kathy,

Who cares what others think? Michael’s music is my favourite that was ever made, and this is one of my favourite songs as well. People who criticise you for posting things other than his music or for it not being hip hop are ignorant, because you can tell by simply listening to his songs (whether it be recorded under Micheal Larsen, Face Candy, Oliver Hart or Eyedea and Abilities name) that he was heavily influenced by other genres.

I’m thankful that you share personal snippets of your thoughts and share intimate moments you had with Mikey, you really don’t need to do this, because those memories belong to you but you’re kind enough to share these things with his fans and I think that takes courage and selflessness.

    Once again, thank you.

You had a great son. Micheal helped me alot through his music. He helped me stay sane in certain moments of my life if that means anything to you.

By the way, great song. Hope you’re having a wonderful day.

    Many blessings.

Hi Kathy, I just first want to say you are an amazing woman and I’ve been wanting to share a story with you. My brother younger brother Andrew, 15, he passed away on July 31, 2011 due to liver cancer. So, this july was just 2 years and I’m learning to live without his presence. But, the reason why I brought him up is because Michael “Eyedea” was his idol his hero, his ultimate inspiration. I mean he connected with in ways I couldn’t and I love your son’s music and what he stood for. Such an incredible gifted human begin this earth ever was blessed with. Late nights, we would listen to Eyedea and talk about what he meant and what he means when he uses his large vocabulary and experiences. My baby brother loved him so much, and listen to him since Eyedea was doing MC shows. Well, thank you for your time and may God bless you Kathy and keep his soul alive.
