Fair

Well wide world of web, I have to say I have now corrupted another generation to enjoy rides. Yes, rides. Mikey enjoyed rides of all types but the ones we liked the most were the ones the went fast, twisted, and long. I went with a Jamie, Jaz, and Mijah to Como Zoo and they have a little area of rides. So the state fair is coming up here in Mn next week. Ever since I was about 3yrs I would go to the fair for my B-day. Well last year I didn’t go. The year Mikey passed I did go with friends on my B-day but it wasn’t the same as when he and the rest of the kids would go. It was the first B-day that Mikey and I were apart. He was out helping Chris (Kristoff) and Cody (Sadistik) as I said before we both (Mikey and I) took it as a learning experience. I remember him asking me are you sure you don’t want to come out and meet me. I said it was ok cuz I was moving the next year and we probably wont see each other all the time anyway. I’m sure many of the kids remember having to go, Janessa, Jessie, Mikey, Sam, Joey and many others over the years, they got to hear some great music.  From Earth, Wind and Fire, War, Aerosmith, Heart, Pat Benatar and many more. Sometimes we would even run into Ant, we have the same B-day (might not be the same day but it’s close cuz that’s what we would say when we saw each other “here for your B-day” we both would smile and say yep) But none of them would ride the rides with us. Mikey and I would walk all around the midway pick the rides we wanted and then off we would go. Well now I have two up coming kids who like rides too. There is my nephew Alex, and now Mijah (Jeremy’s daughter). So I’m going on the rides, no we are going on the rides and it’s off to the fair next week. We will look at the animals (no touching since pigs can now give the swine flu to us through our skin), go on lots of rides and eat tons of junk food. At the fair there is anything you want on a stick even pork chops. So Mikey always liked swinging even as a baby I mean under 1yrs, he wanted to be swung, you know you do the tossing up, airplane,  all those things to give your tummy the feeling of up and down. He would even try to get that feeling on hills in the car or elevators you jump up when it’s going down. The kids even use to swing the dog around when she would hang on to a stick. Mikey and Bobby were good for that. If you were around here as a kid we did rides every where. Even took a couple groups of kids to Six Flags a couple of times. Went to all the parks in Florida. Well Thank you for listening, reading and supporting. Love Kathy

Thank you so much, Kathy. You help more than you know.
Your son did not fall far from your tree, it’s like when he left, he gave us you for guidance. Thank you for being there. I, too, am going through loss, and your writing helps me, every single time.

I wish I could have gone to the fair this year..the past two years I haven’t been able to go which sucks because it’s a lot of fun. I’m an adreniline junkie. I would go on the biggest rides but I can never seem to convince anyone in my family to go on with me.
Thank you for posting these. The first time I found out about this site I immediately felt a lot of respect towards you because a lot of people wouldn’t even think to do this.
I wish I could do something for you and your family, to show how much I care and to repay you and Mikey for helping me, even if you guys weren’t aware you were doing so. I am only a stranger though and the best I can give you are my thoughts.
I hope you enjoy(ed) your time at the fair. If you haven’t gone yet try some fried alligator if you’ve never had it–it was always my favorite. I hope you have a great birthday.

This website is so beautiful. This was a great idea for a way to handle such a tragic loss. Losses affect us for entire lives, and continuing to write about good memories and create such a lovely memoir I’m sure helps you to stay on the positive side. I can tell from his music that Michael was a very intelligent man, and listening to his songs I always felt like I could relate in one way or another to his life so I love reading about who he was as a person and with his family. Thank you so much for writing, my love goes out to the family of Michael <3
