PERIL (2019) is somehow less forgiving than its predecessor, packing even more songs into a shorter run time. The non-stop sequencing was taken straight from the DFS live show: songs were performed in elaborate medleys, without click tracks or cues of any sort. There are no pauses, no fade outs, and there is no chance to catch your breath.
Meticulous preproduction allowed DFS to record live, in less than 24 hours (excluding only lead vocals). And while SQUALOR was only mastered by Jason Livermore at The Blasting Room (Rise Against, Descendents), PERIL was mixed by Livermore as well. This juxtaposition made for their most honest, and most polished effort to date.
