After the Dedication

Now that all the work is done I really want to THANK all of you. Yes all includes the world. Those who worked for the past 8 months or so, those who came and spoke, those who came to perform, those who came to share love, all who donated to make the day more than just a day they made it a celebration. I also want to thank those of you who traveled far and hear to be with us. The day was almost perfect for me and all of you what would of made it perfect was if Mikey was there. Yet all in all it was a good day. I met some wonderful people who came from outside the U.S. and from all over this country. I received many gifts and if I was unable to connect with you to get the gift you brought I’m sorry. But know that just the thought that you think so much of Mikey and me to bring me something is greatly appreciated.

The day moved very fast but at the same time very slow. Everyone did a great job, was very supportive of my family, and helped us in our process of saying good-bye and hello. There will be a place now that everyone at anytime can go see a place that inspired Mikey, he played at as a child, where I played as a child, and just enjoy some peace. That is a beautiful thing.

Through out the day there were times I just wanted to run away and never to be seen again. A couple of you noticed and asked what do you want my answer was leave. One responded by saying look at all this that you did now how would anything like this get done without you. The other said go ahead take a little break you deserve it. Both are funny to me but understandable answers to me wanting to leave. With that being said I am taking a vacation in November I will be gone for a whole week, yes 7 days with no phone, no internet, and no emails. I do want to recharge before I start to figure out which of Mikey projects that will be worked on over the next year and of course planning for next years celebration on Mikey birthday.

I will continue to post, share as much as I can about Mikey, answer emails, and keep as many of you who want to know what going on in the proverbially loop.

The whole day had many beautiful moments, all of the speakers, all the performers, but for me what I think was the most touching to me was when I had finished my speech and looked up out at the crowd. It was the candle light and screaming you all were doing. The candle light shinning against your faces in the dark of the night was one of the most beautiful things I saw.

Again I feel that the biggest THANK YOU is not enough for everyone who worked, donated, came, and shared. But it is all I have to give you. Love Kathy

Sounds like it was everything it was supposed to be. I would have loved to have been there, to connect that much more with the person that is saving my life. You should probably enjoy your time away thoroughly, you do deserve it. All the best
